Japanese Canadians - Compensation for internment

Authorization for compensation to persons of Japanese ancestry for discriminatory actions taken by the Government of Canada during World War II was made by Privy Council Order 1988-9/2552, dated October 31, 1988. A copy of the Order Respecting Ex Gratia Payments to Persons of Japanese Ancestry, more commonly known as the Japanese Internment Compensation Order, is available at the Vancouver Courthouse Library.
