The King’s Bench Act, 1998, S.S. 2023, c. 28 (in force May 17, 2023), allows Saskatchewan judges to make the Rules of Court, also called the King's Bench Rules. The rules were formerly called the Queen’s Bench Rules, enabled under the Queen's Bench Act, 1998, S.S. 1998, c. Q-1.01.
They are not made by regulation or statute, but are published in the Saskatchewan Gazette, Part I, pursuant to section 6-2(3) of the King’s Bench Act. Part I of the Gazette contains official government notices, orders in council, and those private notices required to be published by statute.
The Courts of Saskatchewan website provides access to the King’s Bench Rules, Court of Appeal Rules, Practice Directives, the Tariff of Costs and related documents.
