Yearly salaries for judges of the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of BC are set by section 17 of the federal Judges Act, R.S.C. 1985, c.J-1.
Salaries for judges and judicial justices of the Provincial Court of BC are set pursuant to recommendations made by the Judges Compensation Commission and Judicial Justices Compensation Commission and approved by the Legislative Assembly (see the Judicial Compensation Act, S.B.C. 2003, c. 59).
