According to Statistics Canada:
"In addition to life expectancy, life tables also provide other indicators describing the mortality within a population during a given period of time: death probabilities, survival probabilities, survivors at specific ages and years of life lived.
Life expectancy is the average number of years a person at a given age would be expected to live if the mortality rates observed for a specific period persisted into the future."
Life tables and life expectancy statistics can be found on the Statistics Canada website.
