British Columbia egg marketing scheme, 1967 - renumbered section
Last revised February 21, 2024

The British Columbia Egg Marketing Scheme, 1967 was originally established by BC Regulation 173/67.  It was amended by BC Regulation 297/72 which added a subsection (kk) to section 4.01 "by inserting immediately after clause (k)".

However, as subsections are normally ordered (a) to (z) followed by (aa) to (zz), the Registrar of Regulations chose to re-number (kk) as (k.1) so that it would properly fall between subsections (k) and (l).  This change was made under the authority of the Regulations Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 402, section 5(2), which states that the Registrar in preparing a regulation for publication, may "make changes in the regulation respecting form, style, numbering and typographical errors or inaccuracies."

A further amendment , BC Regulation 166/74, inserted Part I, sections 1 to 14, immediately following section 1.01. This meant the new section 14 was to come before old sections 1.02 to 4.01.

The Registrar of Regulations again used her authority to re-number the sections to clarify and ensure the material would be sequential. In so doing, section 4.01(k.1) became section 37(k.1).
