Canadian Car Service Rules
Last revised September 09, 2022

A copy of the "Canadian Car Service Rules", prescribed by Order No. 906 (General Order No.1) of the Board of Railway Commissioners for Canada, dated January 25, 1906, may be found at p. 690 of The railway law of Canada by Samuel W. Jacobs.  These rules regulate demurrage charges, which are exacted by a railway from a shipper or receiver for failure to load or unload cars within a prescribed time.

The "Canadian Car Service Rules" were superseded by the "Canadian Car Demurrage Rules", prescribed by General Order No. 201, effective August 20, 1917.  These rules are published in volume 24, p. 196, of the Canadian railway cases reporter series.
