As per subsection 25(8) of the Hospital Insurance Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 204: "this section applies to claims for hospital services arising after a day to be set by the Lieutenant Governor in Council".
There is no evidence of this date ever having been set.
The section was repealed effective April 1, 2009 with the coming into force of section 26 of the Health Care Costs Recovery Act, S.B.C. 2008, c. 27 (See BC Regulations Bulletin: Regulation No. 397/2008).
