The Canadian Judicial Council / Conseil canadien de la magistrature includes among its publications model jury instructions. In addition to preliminary, mid-trial and final instructions, there are the following charge specific instructions for:

- self-defence (in force as of March 11, 2013)

- provocation
- sexual offences
- assaults and other non-fatal offences against the person
- homicide
