vLex

vLex is a web-based service that allows users to access to Canadian legal texts. Courthouse Libraries BC maintains a subscription to Irwin Law and Emond titles on vLex. You can visit Irwin Law or Emond titles on vLex to browse and search Canadian legal texts. Books can be read via browser.

How it works

Once you have logged in, you can browse or search vLex to find the information you are looking for.

To browse the Emond Publishing or Irwin Law titles:

  • click 'Browse'
    • select 'Books & Journals'
      • select Emond or Irwin Law

Where to find it

On-site

Irwin Law titles are available on-site on any Courthouse Library Public Access Computer. 

Remote Access to Subscription Databases

Emond and Irwin Law titles, available through vLex are a part of the Courthouse Libraries free online library available to BC lawyers, articling students and notaries. To enjoy remote access to Irwin Law and Emond titles you must have a Courthouse Library account with remote access. 

If you don't have a website account you can visit registration to sign up and request access, in addition lawyers can now use their Law Society digital member credential to login without creating a CLBC website account, visit Remote Access to Subscription Databases.
